How to put out garbage

Please put out sorted garbage by 8:30 AM on the designated day, at the designated place in the designated way.

Garbage day varies by district. Please refer to the garbage collection day calendar for each district. Burnable (= combustible) garbage needs to be put in the red Asago City bags. A charge applies for garbage bags.

Please take other garbage to the collection basket at the garbage station or a resource collection area.

How to sort garbage

There are 12 waste categories in Asago City. The types, number of times, and methods of putting out garbage are as follows.

Burnables
(twice a week)
Food scraps, cooking oil, disposable diapers, cloth products, some plastics, rubber products, etc. Put these items out at the garbage station in a designated bag.
Non-burnables
(once a month)
Ceramic and glass dishes, microwave ovens, light bulbs, irons, vacuum cleaners, etc. Put these items in the collection basket at the garbage station.
Hazardous garbage
(once a month)
Spray cans, kerosene stoves, fluorescent tubes, disposable lighters, dry-cell batteries, products containing mercury, etc. Put these items in the collection basket at the garbage station.
*Place dry-cell batteries, products containing mercury, and disposable lighters in separate, transparent bags.
Cans
(once a month)
Cans one liter capacity or smaller which contained food or drink Cans Wash cans out with water and put them in the collection basket at the garbage station.
Bottles

Bottles
Wash bottles out with water and put them in the three separate collection baskets at the garbage station, for clear, brown, and other colors. Put bottles of cooking oil, cosmetics bottles, broken bottles, and bottles which can't be cleaned out in the non-burnable garbage.

The following garbage is not accepted at the garbage station. A recycling fee is charged to dispose of it.
